DSIP

Supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) white powder in a sealed sterile vial. Requires reconstitution with bacteriostatic water prior to use. Each vial contains 5mg of DSIP at ≥99% purity. Note: the N-terminal tryptophan residue is susceptible to oxidation — protect from light during storage and handling to maintain stability.

DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a naturally occurring nonapeptide first isolated from rabbit brain in 1974, found endogenously in human brain tissue, blood plasma, and cerebrospinal fluid. Its sequence (Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu, or WAGGDASGE) is highly conserved across mammalian species. It has been extensively researched and is known to influence delta wave sleep architecture, regulate stress hormone and HPA axis function, modulate neurotransmitter systems including serotonergic, GABAergic, and glutamatergic pathways, and support circadian rhythm regulation — making it a unique research tool for studying sleep and stress physiology.

Research Background

Research has examined DSIP's effects on sleep architecture, particularly its influence on delta wave (slow-wave) sleep patterns associated with restorative sleep phases. Studies have investigated DSIP's mechanisms of action including its effects on neurotransmitter systems, stress hormone regulation, and circadian rhythm modulation. Additional research has explored its potential effects on stress responses, pain perception, and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis function. Its presence across multiple tissues and diverse range of studied biological activities make it a valuable and broad-ranging tool for neuroregulatory and peptide signalling research.
